2. Start small
Starting with the Challenge and adopting this lifestyle implies changes in your daily habits. Start with small things that are at your fingertips, later you can change the way you do shopping and then personal hygiene products, etc.
Start with these 5 small changes (I’m sure that with just them you can reduce your garbage production by up to 50%):
1) Say no to plastic bags: Start rejecting all kinds of plastic bags and get into the habit of taking your cloth bags to the supermarket.
2) Take a bottle of water with you: Plastic bottles are toxic, and involve a huge expenditure of energy. Always carry an aluminum water bottle with you and fill it from home.
3) Keep a cup of coffee in your office: Pick a favorite coffee mug and reuse it.

Rather than focusing on reaching zero in your daily life, use that energy to achieve change at more systemic levels. Our planet needs us today more than ever. Start meeting people with similar ideals to yours and organize yourself to achieve more profound changes in your neighborhood, your and community. The changes that our planet urgently needs go far beyond just changing habits in your daily life, or changes in the way you consume. .
